Deer roast and spatzle

My dad came home today so I decided to make him one of his favorites.... Deer roast with spatzle( homemade egg noodles)
Here is the recipe to my delicious roast and egg noodles:
Roast:
1 roast- wild game meat or beef
2 potatoes, quarterd
2 carrots, quarterd
1/2 onion, sliced
4 Garlic cloves
1 boullion beef cube
Salt, pepper and herbs (lovage, dill, parsley, oregano, etc)

Put all the ingredients above in a oven pan and fill with water 3/4 full, then put into preheated oven at 200 degrees Celcius. Cool for approximately 1-1/2 hours, slice the meat then serve

If you want gravy from the sauce after taking the roast out of the oven put onto the stove on medium heat and whisk flour into the sauce

Enjoy :)

Lovage herb

Mmmmm love fresh lovage! What an amazing smelling and tasting herb! I normally wash, dry and freeze lovage and then use it all year round in my roasts, stews and soups! If you've never tried lovage I'd recommend trying it or growing It fresh in your garden!

Organic from the farm chicken noodle soup :)

Butcherd two roosters this morning, and making chicken noodle soup from scratch! Right now making chicken broth by boiling the whole chicken in boiling water, onions, garlic, carrots and herbs/spices.
After 2 hours taking the chicken out, cut chicken into chunks, add back into soup, add peas and noodles! When noodles are almost done, crack a few eggs in and let boil for 10 mins undisturbed! Then serve! There ya have it folks a delicious organic country style chicken noodle soup! :)

Meet my dog mr. Bear, he's a 9 year old border collie X blue healer! He's pretty hilarious, loves to be dried off with a towel, loves going for rides in the back of my pick up! I had to change his name from bear to mr. Bear cus yelling after him on hikes would scare people thinking there was a bear in the area haha

Organic strawberries!

First strawberry of the season! It's small but has tons of flavour! Next year I'll be working on a strawberry field next to the fence of the garden! :)

The area where my new barn is going, started clear cutting tonight! Thank you daddy for the huge help :)

My famous Apple cinnamon muffin recipe!

My famous apple cinnamon muffins, i have to usually triple the batch otherwise they are gone in 24hours!

3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1tbsp vanilla extract
1tbsp cinnamon
1-1/2 tsp baking powder
1-1/2 cups flour
1 cup finely chopped apples

Preheat oven to 350F (175C)
In a mixing bowl add butter and sugar, then mix with an electric mixer. Then add the egg vanilla extract and milk and mix thoroughly. Next add the cinnamon and the baking powder and mix. Slowly mix in the flower till the batter is fully mixed. Start chopping the apples very fine( sometimes I will chop apples before making batter, then add them after batter is complete, especially when doubling or tripling recipe). After apples and mixed in,  spoon batter into muffin linners, about 3/4 full and put in oven. Bake for approx 20-25 mins until golden brown, do a tooth pick test to ensure muffins are ready!
Makes 12 muffins

Enjoy :)

Tips on growing an aloe Vera successfully :)

This is my 5 year old Aloe Vera that is for the first time flowering! I'm so excited because i have 3 of these beautiful big aloe Vera's that I grew from when they were 5 inches tall. I will make sure to post pics when the flower blooms!

Here are some tips to growing a successful aloe Vera plant: (and don't worry if you've killed some, I killed 2 aloe Vera's before I got the hang of it)
1. Make sure your aloe Vera gets lots of sunlight, right infront of a window is perfect
2. Don't over water, I usually water once every week to three weeks, depending on the soil, make sure the soil is dry before watering
3. Make sure to transplant the aloe Vera once it gets bigger, go one pot size up each transplant until you go to about the size of pot I have in the picture, that should be the largest it goes to
4. You can always ask me or Google your questions if you need any help or are unsure

Hedge hog cookies :)

Got a hedge hog cookie recipe from a magazine! Tried it out and it's super delicious and fun! Enjoy :)

The recipe from the banana bread I make

Banana bread recipe:

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
3 medium bananas
2 tsp baking powder
2 cups flour
1 cup walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 375F or 190C, lightly butter or oil a loaf pan
In a large mixing bowl add butter and sugar then mix with an electric mixer. Then add the eggs and vanilla extract, mix again until fully mixed. Add all three bananas, make smaller chunks and put into mixing bowl and mix, until there's no large chunks left. Add the baking powder and slowly mix if the flour 1/2 cup at a time. After flour is in the batter scrape the sides of the bowl and mix on medium speed for a few minutes. Then stir in walnuts(optional)
When batter is mixed, pour it into the loaf pan, then put into the pre heated oven for 15minutes. After baking for 15 mins reduce heat to 350F and bake for 45 mins, make sure to do a tooth pick test before removing from oven. After banana bread is done remove bread from pan and let it cool.
Enjoy :)
